MADRID, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has put his faith in new coach Jose Mourinho leading his side to triumph in the new season.
The new BBVA Primera Liga season kicks off in Spain this weekend with Real Madrid looking to end two years of total dominance by rivals FC Barcelona.
This summer saw the arrival of Mourinho as first team coach. Mourinho arrives at Madrid after leading led Inter Milan to the Champions League and the Italian title and before that he was a huge success at Chelsea, taking the Londoners to the Premier League crown on two occasions.
Mourinho's success speaks for itself and he has also taken Porto to the UEFA Cup and Champions League. He appears to guarantee trophies for Real Madrid, or at least that is what Ronaldo expects.
"Proof of that is the way that he won the Champions League with Inter Milan. I saw a lot of their games last season and he was the key to them winning that competition as well as the league and the cup," he told Friday's edition of sports paper Diario AS.
"I am certain that all of the players, coaches and club employees are going to battle this season to win all of the competitions that we can. Mourinho has done that in his previous clubs, with Inter and with Porto and he can do the same thing here," assured the striker.
Ronaldo explained a little of what it is to like with such a successful coach.
"The training sessions are spectacular and they are incredibly intense. We are all really happy with the work we are doing and the results are going to follow. Now we are all looking forward to the season starting and to winning titles," said Ronaldo.
