Valencia defender Ricardo Costa is preparing to face Real Madrid this weekend, and has expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, calling the explosive attacker “a machine”.
Costa is an international team-mate of CR7, and has watched his development to become a rival for the accolade of the best footballer in the world.
However, speaking to AS, he reckons that Los Che have an opportunity to shock the capital club when they meet on Saturday, and he will do everything possible to keep Ronaldo in check, with the Portuguese hoping to recover from injury in time.
He remarked: “I’m sure Ronaldo will play because he is very important for Real Madrid, for his peers and for the team. Cristiano is the type of player who does hide, he is a machine, he puts his chest out and becomes more dangerous.
“I’ll be on the field, and Valencia have to be united and show solidarity in defence to stop him.”
Costa also spoke of another Portuguese, Blancos coach Jose Mourinho, adding: “I know all about Mourinho and if there is a trainer in the world who can help the players of Real Madrid, it is him.
“Mourinho is very strong, and we must be prepared to face a wounded team.” |
